EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS)

Public Sector EMS: Our Company’s Eurocopter BO105S ‘EMS’ helicopters remain on standby during daylight hours every day of the year at our Miri and Sibu Bases, always ready to respond within 45 minutes to EMS Missions tasked by the Sarawak Health Department.

A total of over 4,100 flight hours and 1470 EMS Missions have been completed by the Company’s Eurocopter BO105S CBS-4/5 ‘EMS’ aircraft on behalf of the Sarawak Health Department (JKNS) from October 2009 to December 2014. The successful provision of EMS requires careful planning and coordination between our Company’s Operations Room Staff, Medical Personnel on the ground, and our Pilots, who must execute their Missions taking into account fuel requirements, weather status, and available daylight hours. Our Company’s guiding principle is to fulfill every EMS tasked by the Government subject to maintaining safe flight operations at all times. Our Employees consider every patient as their own potential relative and the Company rightly takes pride in its proven record of EMS performance.

Provision of helicopter EMS Services throughout the year requires a dedication and attention to duty that can only come from Staff who both enjoy and take pride in their work. Such services are provided in ‘partnership’ with the professional medical personnel of the Government Departments who monitor and attend to the patient/s, often in critical condition, throughout every EMS Flight.

Many patients owe their lives to our country’s dedicated health professionals, and our Company expresses its sincerest thanks to all the Doctors, Nurses, and Medical Attendants that have flown with us to date, along with their Support Staff at the medical centres throughout East Malaysia. TO ALL OF YOU, A VERY BIG ‘THANK YOU’!

Private Sector EMS: In addition to EMS Services undertaken by our Company’s helicopters, LLA has performed nearly 100 EMS Missions on behalf of Private Clients from January 2008 to June 2013 using its NOMAD N22C twin-engine fixed wing aircraft, thereby affording IFR day/night all-weather capability.

EMS Missions performed include from East to West Malaysia and vice versa, as well as from Malaysia to Singapore. The Company is engaged by Nippon Oil to provide EMS Services in respect of their onshore oil exploration within Miri Division
